Welcome to the Experimental Politics Workshop at the University of Wisconsin–Madison

The Experimental Politics Workshop (EPW) brings together graduate students and faculty interested in conducting research using experimental methods. We meet roughly once a month to discuss experimental proposals or in-progress work produced by faculty and graduate students. We strongly prefer presentations of empirical work in the design stage rather than complete drafts or finished  papers, as the most efficient way to improve experimental research is at this stage of development. The group crosses subfield boundaries and welcomes presentations of research employing any experimental method (lab/field/survey/natural experiment) or dealing with experimental methodology. Internal workshops—UW Madison faculty and graduate students—take place on Fridays at 12:00–1:30 pm.

In addition to the internal workshops, EPW sponsors a number of guest speaker presentations that are co-sponsored with other research groups. These take place 12:00–1:15 pm on various days of the week, so please check the schedule carefully.

The EPW faculty director for the 2017–2018 academic year is Jonathan Renshon. The student coordinator is Anna Meier. Please contact us if you are interested in presenting, or for any further information regarding EPW.
